Value is highly personal. Those from the Red Sea are more likely to do well in my opinion.

Is it how the fish are collected on how well they will ship?

I've seen both adapt well at fish stores. By that I mean both types ate pellets and frozen food.

But regals from indo-pacific had cloudy eyes more often than those from Red Sea or Indian Ocean

it could be any fish.... thats why you qt all fish and treat them for flukes.
red sea are more desirable because of the colors are more vibrant and collection are better.

I am guessing that would be correct. That is why I purchase Aussie endemic fish when choosing between Indo and Aussie.

I am specifically referring to yellow belly regal angel and grey belly regal angel. My point was while both can adapt well, Red Sea and Indian Ocean regal angel (yellow belly) tend to be in slightly better shape between the two.

Lots of discussion can be found here (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=389107).

Honestly with regals it all depends on how they are handled. Usually fish out of Indo/Philippines aren't handled as well as Aussie or Red Sea fish. I also have found that Red Sea Regals are far more brilliant than even the Yellow Bellies from elsewhere.

Hence the collection

Red Sea collection is better than indo
But both can have flukes because they are angels.

I have seen yellow belly Regals from Red Sea and Indian Ocean, I couldn't tell one was more colorful than the other. Probably all depends on lighting at a fish store and overall condition of fish.

You keep quoting me but I don't really see what you trying to say other than generic statements like "that's every fish" or "they can have flukes because they are angels".[emoji2][emoji225]

Don't think I ever saw them side by side. They are so pricey by most standards that fish stores don't stock them too often.

I have my Indo for a couple of years now...it's personal taste in which one species is pretty than the other, but the RS demand a higher price becuase most prefer them...I went with the Indo because I wanted the challange of keeping one. Started with clam on the half shell and then meaty foods ... after a few months it started taking all types of foods..pellets, flakes etc...

Yes they command a higher price because the are more colorful and much more responsibly collected. If the wholesaler doesn't have someone that's is at the location of collection they/you have no idea how it was collected. Indonesia and the phillipines certainly aren't at the forefront or good collection practices.
