theres a pool opening up in ordering from FFExpress

I m tempted to get in the order, and order some baby maxima purple clams 1"

now is this TOO small, I m afraid I ll lose it easily :)

they also have some other 2 inch 3 inch ones for cheap, and I was thinking if I pooled in an order, shipping would be more tolerable..

any experience with baby clams ?

I've found clams under two inches in size are difficult to maintain. I'd pass on the one inch and even the two inch as shipping costs aren't going to change all that much on clams smaller then three inches. The larger clam will have a better chance of survival, both during shipping and in your tank.

IMO, IME

I would not MO Maxima less than 2 inches and Crocea less than 1.5 inches. Their survival rate in the best of tank is less than 20%, IMO. Also, almost never find the ultra clams small. I guess the breeder wanted to raise them to a larger size before selling to get better price.
