Recommendations for wattage, size, brand? Would two 15" pendants at 250w each cover it? Also how much heat will this add? I do not have a chiller but the tank is in a basement that never tops 80F

Also, pros and cons for Mogul, double end, etc? So many choices!

DE is supposed to give better par but there are less bulb options. There's pros and cons for everything. 2 elos epower pendants would be perfect for that tank

I have same foot print ant run 2 X Hamilton Cabo Sun Mini with mogul 250w MH. This way I could run Radiums. If your gonna go MH go Radiums. Not too mant reflectors available anymore Hamilton Cabo Sun Mini is the right size for you and multifaceted.

That would also work. I looked into these too, but I ended up building my own fixture. Hamilton is one of the few companies still making MH fixtures.

2x250 watt bulbs of your choosing in Lumenbright, lumenmax, or Hamilton pendants, with BuildMyLED bars in front and back

This is just personal preference, but I don't think I would do LED with MH without T5 in the mix as well. Reason being, that you are combining two types of light that are pretty harsh/direct. We all know that LED are an extremely pinpointed light source. MH have reflectors which help a ton, but its still a pretty strong light source that creates a lot of shadows. T5 help spread the light and soften things up a little bit.

I have one of those hamilton cebu sun fixtures and have thought about adding reefbrite strips to it because they will mount right up with the included brackets.

I would generally agree with that, but I feel like the BuildMyLED strips have more than enough power, and well designed reflector/diffuser that they aren't quite as handicapped as the brick, pick,or multichip design creates with LEDs. The linear array in strip formation has worked real well for me personally and complements the halides very well. Fills in the shadows great. You can never go wrong with a bunch of true actinic t5s in some parabolics though.

I guess i wanted LED supplement to get actinic effect, but could easily do MH with T5 instead if that is best

Good to know.
Like I said, i haven't tried it but I may get at least one strip someday just to add a little extra punch.

Hey Bpd - I sent you a private message but no reason to not just ask it here. May I ask what your light configuration looks like with specific lamps and BML build?

Never mind Bpd unless something has changed - I answered my own request:

I may have answered my own question – “90 gallon 2x250 watt XM10k with one 48" BuildMyLED super actinic strip in front.” Which I saw at http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2462326

You could definitely get away with 400-440nm LED's with no lens, so you don't get the focusing effect but get the color supplementation and still some growth from them. Depends how high up they would be though...
