Just got a kilo of fresh squilla. They are called Pannochie, Cannochie, or Cobs at the store.
Going to serve them up with a white wine butter sauce and some pasta tonight.
The lady double bagged them but they still poked holes and stuck the cashiers hand.

I love seafood :D
Stomatopods are most certainly on my plate when available they have a rich strong flavor and are often used as stocks in other sea food mixes to bring out a more "seafood flavor" overall.
But I'll take mine served in anyway so long as its dead! LOL...

I made the mistake of boiling them too long and most of them turned to mush. I had to run and get more. They cook in no time at all. I would say 30 seconds, not the cook time of 3 minutes I got off of the web.
Reminds me of Argentinian deep water shrimp. They are so sweet and delicious but they cook insanely fast.

I'm going to be cooking up lots of them soon and in as many different ways possible just to test and see and taste =D
But these will be the giant zebra spearers 'maculata'...
