So I am from MA and am on about an 11 day vacation (I return the 28th). My trusty apex has been showing me that my tank is running about 76-77. I usually run closer to 79. I am assuming this is because the ambient temperature in the house is lower probably around 50*, oil heat is expensive...).

Should I crank the temp on the heaters a little (2 150 watts on my 65) or just let it ride out like a chilly week on the reef?

I don't think 76-77 is a problem. I run 77.5-78. Lots of variation in the ocean too.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. My tank runs up to 82 in the summer and now it's about 76.6 according to my Apex. I even hit as low as 75.5 a couple days ago. Temps on the reefs where much of our live stock originates from range from 74-85* depending on the time of year. As long as the temp swings are slow, then you should be just fine IMO.

Ok sounds good! Glad my take it easy and hope for the best wasn't out of line. Wish I had a webcam to check on how it looks while I am away now... Always another project while reefing!

Most of the stuff we keep is fine in the 70*-84* range as long as there aren't big, rapid swings.
