RO/DI output 1ppm

hmmm....changed my cartridges yesterday and am now at 0.01 output. Was 0 before the change.
I flushed a bunch of times but is this part of the normal break-in of new cartridges? I will continue to monitor today as I make another 20 gallons but am wondering if I need a new DI membrane.

I also installed a prefilter before my solenoid to protect it (my last solenoid jammed due to dirt) and am super pleased with that.

The prefilters won't have much if any effect on the TDS.

The RO Membrane removes a percentage of the TDS. You tend to see numbers between 99 and 96% rejection. For every 100tds incoming you would have between 1-4 tds output from the membrane. Replace the RO Membrane when it no longer performs to its rated rejection rate. They can last 5 years if well taken care of.

The DI filter cartridge should be replaced when it no longer brings the RO membranes output to 0tds.
