Ok a quick back ground on tank..125 gallon been running for about 6 months or so, its a FOWLR tank, 40 gallon refugium sump. Also have a 90 gallon rimless starphire reef had for over a year.Fish consist of the following..
2 Butterfly fish, a 2" scopas tang, saddleback puffer, picasso trigger (3 inch) 1.5 inch bicolor. Have had these fish for about 5 months or so..

Tank perameters

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10-15
ph 8.15
temp 79.5
Salanity 1.022
So here is the issue, bought this beautiful 3.5 to 4 inch Powder Brown tang from a guy that had it in QT for 2 months with absolute NO issues..I dripped him for about an hour, put him in 5 days ago, no aggression from others, eating immediately the next day and every since. Couple of days ago saw a little spot on fin, thought ok maybe a little ammonia burn from hour and half trip will keep eye out. Then saw him flash a little and now a small white spot.
Do I just wait and keep an eye out or start treatment for ich now..Will certainly create more stress if I try to get him out, so would you treat copper or hypo or what are your suggestions. I need your guys help with this dont want to loose this beautiful fish nor any of my others...thanks

Ok guys need alittle advice here...seen him scratch on the bottom of the body near fins I see three white dots which I can only assume is ich.
I don not have any corals or inverts. Would you start a small dose of copper... really need some guidance on this one,,,,,:headwalls:

Copper and live rock don't go well together. All the inverts will die causing an ammonia spike and with that much calcium it will deplete the copper from the tank quickly.

Can you remove the calcium substrate and rocks into a rubbermaid for safe keeping while you dose the tank?

I would remove the fish and put them in QT.

Can you get any pics?

I'm not sure there is an easy solution. Hypo may be an option but it is slow and would probably cause a cycle with the live rock. Powders tend to be pretty fragile.

I just moved around 3000lbs of rock and transferred a whole gaggle of fish due to disease so I feel your pain.

ahhh thank you!!!:bounce1: so if you look at about the 9 second mark on the bottom left when he is facing left you will see 3 little white dots which I am sure is ich. Am I correct, I know it maybe alittle hard to see, he would not be still long enough...lol
