Starting out with a clown fish, I have 20lbs of Fuji rock, 1" deep pool filter sand bed, 2 800gph sunsun pumps, and a marineland led light. My issue is where to get my water? Is there a DIY filter I can make to make purified water for a fish and live rock only?

I plan for now to use the Fuji rock as my filtration for 1 fish in a 40g breeder.

If you don't have access to rodi water you can always purchase distilled water from your grocery store.

There are rodi systems you can buy which range from 150-300 bucks which purify tap water or if you don't use too much then local fish stores usually sell it for 50 cents a gallon.

Unless your water is perfectly clean, which I highly doubt it's always good to use rodi or distilled in your tank. Distilled will get you by for a while but always try and use rodi.
