I need help deciding on a new tank. I literally have about 6 hours before sales end on my local fish stores reef aquariums. I currently have a 29 biocube and want to start transferring corals over since they will start overrunning it. I want this to be a nice display tank with corals and some fish. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Reef tanks im looking at:

120 Gal Aqueon $426.99 because of a small chip on corner, nothing structural
80 Gal Deep Blue Frag Tank $287.99
75 Gal Aqueon $239.99
75 Gal Deep Blue Edge Rimless $407.99
60 Gal Deep Blue Cube $223.99

While bigger is not always better, the length of the 120 would allow for tangs and such. The extra length would be very appealing, assuming you have space for it. That said, the 75 looks like a great deal, and 4 feet makes for a very nice DT.
Keep in mind that the cost of equipment for a larger tank can get to add up too. Skimmer for a 120 May cost $100 more than one for a 75, for example.
Unless you also have the money, or a lot of patience, the 120 will look more empty for a while since there will be more rock (which is also expensive).
With an estimated $100/gallon when your done, can you fund $12,000 or $7,500 over the next few years? I always thought that number was crazy high until I actually calculated mine. I'm at about $4,000 for my 75, and the tank was free, but I stick to common fish and corals.

Think about all the other things you have to buy...
Stand
Sump
Lights
Return pump
Reactors
Circulating pumps
Sand
Rock
Heaters
Water change equipment

Add all that up, and then pick a tank that fits the budget. I went from a 28g Nano to a 75g, and then to a 210g. My Nano became a Seahorse tank, which then was transferred to a 60g cube. My best advice is dont spend so much on a larger tank that your filtration and lighting suffer.

If money is no concern, then buy the biggest tank that will fit where you are putting it.

Yea thats whats worries me about larger tanks. Looks like I will try and stay around the $200-$300 range. Narrowing it down to the 80 gallon frag (might not look good as a display), 75 gallon Aqueon with a 36"+ high stand, or the 60 gallon cube. Decisions, decisions....

Hopefully the 80g! Best choice IMHO.

Went with a 94 Gallon 36x30x20 Rimless from Exotic Aquariums used for $900. Came with everything and the tank looked brand new.

Heres the tank and the stand's frame. I have the covers and doors i'm cleaning up along with the hanging canopy. It pretty much came with the sump, Euro reef skimmer, Sicce return pump, two Tunze powerheads with controllers, lumenbrite reflector with a 250w MH w/ballast, reefbright xho led strip, 5 Stage RODI Unit (which I dont need), 100lbs of dry rock and other little accessories. For $900 I dont think its a bad deal since the tank alone new is $700 custom built with a twelve week wait time on it. And I swear Im crazy with scratches on tanks, and after cleaning it thoroughly ive found one very light scratch on the back glass. I'm pretty happy about this purchase.
