Just picked up a ASM G1-x skimmer, but the pump has no impeller, cover, or venturi. It's a Sedra 3500, and replacing the parts would run about $60, but I can get a 350gph skimmer pump for $45 if just buy a completely new pump.
Are there any issues replacing it with a more economical needle wheel pump?
On a side note, how closely do i need to match the original GPH if I find a replacement pump?
