What is a decent test kit that will test everything I need to test for the best price. I dont need anything over kill. Only the tests I need.

I'm pretty new to this, and ended up buying two kits from API: Reef Master and Saltwater Master. I was able to get the saltwater one for about $25 online, and the reefmaster for $10 on ebay. There's a little overlap, as both have nitrate tests, but that's one I use a lot, so it's cool.

Most of the reviews I read said they were great for everyday aquarium testing, but not super-high-end, like for a retail situation.

Fish only or reef?

API saltwater test kit is needed either way.
If reef you can get their API reef master set.

4 tests per kit. $50 total for both.

If no reef, drop master test kit and get individual gereral and carbonate hardness years.

Ok he got reef master for $10. Nice buy. I wouldn't expect same results but apparently it can be found. I got mine for $23 on pet solutions free shipping with my other supplies.
