So I have seen a couple of bristleworms coming out of one of my live rocks this rock is closet to the top of tank not near the bottom do I need to get rid of the worm or leave it I have not seen any in the sand so far please advise I would hate to get over run by them

It depends. If you've the common two-toned Caribbean bristleworms in your tank, many feel that they're important scavengers. There's a far less common "fireworm" from the Caribbean that are potential coral predators, but it's fairly rare to have one of these in a tank. Even more problematic is the pacific "bobbit worm", which are about as close to a sea monster as one could get in a home aquarium, but they're quite rare.

It was pink half way up body and the other half was gray

Those are OK, they provide important scavenging duties in a reef tank.
