I probably know the answer to this but I'd figured I'd try to get confirmation that two exquisite wrasses won't coexist in my 315. Thus summer I lost a vanuata. It had taken so long to locate one I picked up a African varient in December and just introduced it to my display a few days ago. Sure enough a buddy came across a vanuata today and picked it up for me. Its going to be in qt for a while, but is it time to catch they African? I'm guessing that its unlikely that the two would coexist. The vanuata is larger.

Though it may not work out, there is a possibility that it could. If you use a social acclimation you would be able to see if there is any overabundance of aggression. Also, if there are other fairy wrasses it could disperse aggression.

I agree. The more dispersion the better.

Thanks I have a few other fairies and flashers and will be introducing an 8 line flasher and a solar at the same time. I'll see how things go with it in the acclimation box and be ready with the trap. Maybe this will help to maintain their colors.

Acclimation box and may work as stated about diversion of aggression

Just wanted to pass along a quick update in case someone else wants to try this. I introduced the second exquisite about two months ago using and acclimation box. There initially was some chasing but things settled down after about a week. Both are out and about and doing fine with just an occasional squabble.

Cool. Good to hear.
How long was he in the box for?

Had him in there for just over a day before he let himself out.
