I was cleaning my aquarium today as I prep for water and noticed several scratches in the acrylic. I've done research on how to remove but was wondering why in all the videos they used a scratch remover when buffing, when I thought most of that type of stuff couldn't be used.
Any ideas or suggestions on doing this. I am going to be doing the front and 2 sides tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks,
Phil

I do have experience in sanding, just not acrylic. I used to install solid surface and granite countertops. I plan on starting at 2000 with water to get out minor scratches, going to 3000 before finishing.
Is there something I can get from Lowe's that works better than something else? Just don't want to make a mistake by buffering with something I shouldn't.

Before I filled my acrylic aquarium, I noticed some bad scratches as well. Used the NOVUS 3 step scratch remover and it worked great. Had to do some sanding, but once I applied the sealer I waited 48 hours and filled up. No issues.
