Display refugium?

Hello all, was curious how many reefers out there run a display fuge. My 20g long sump on my 75g rimless doesn't give the option to run a "real" fuge besides maybe some.chaeto. next to my dt is an biocube 29 stand I use to hold my ato and other goodies and was thinking i could find a resonable priced biocube to sit on the stand and run as an display refugium. Maybe 10-15lbs of live rock, 20lbs live sand, some chateo and other types of algae maybe along with some softies and possibly a few lps. Something that would serve a beneficial purpose for some nutrient export but also be visually appealing. What do you think?

I think it's a decent idea. If nothing else, you are adding some bio diversity to your system and increasing your water volume which is always a good thing.

I run a display refugium along with a larger under tank refugium. My display refugium is a 24"x24"x24" 60 gallon cube. It's fed from my reactor manifold and drains back to the return section of my under tank refugium. I'm not sure how much nutrient export benefit this refugium adds to my tank but every bit helps. I have live rock, a bunch of cult corals, a finger corals or two, some star polyps, a small bit of chaeto, mangroves, caulerpa and some other macro along with a cleaner shrimp, bangai cardinal, banded pipe fish a lawn mower blenny, sea cucumber and some snails. If nothing else it adds a bit of diversity to my system and increased water volume along with a bit of nutrient export.

Looks pretty sweet! That's what I'm shooting for. I think for my estimated 75g tank total, with 20g sump subtracting sand and rock, the 29g biocube fuge could be beneficial to some degree and look pretty cool. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/22/1764ab8d80716a4e4561680fbaac3357.jpg better than any empty stand lol
