I have a tank that I have been experimenting with and not really taking care of. I bought some salt water glass shrimp and pods online and let them do what ever they wanted. It's a pseudo Refugium. When I got my pods, I just dumped them in with the water that they came with.

I would like to take a fair amount of the water from this tank and put it into my sump of a newly established 180. Could anything go wrong? Can fish decease be in the water where there is no fish?

Wow, after re-reading that a few times I have come to a couple conclusions.

One of them I will mention, is that it is possible that if you added the water from the bag in the last 75 days, it is POSSIBLE for there to be disease or parasites in the tank.

I would say it's unlikely, but possible. Also if it's a refugium, you may want to add macroalgae, sand, etc.

thank you, it was my first tank that I used to house a single fish back in August. I then upgraded to a 55, I left the sand/rock as well as some of the original clean up crew. I maintained salinity and added ro water but no water changes.
