So what are the chances of a coral bringing in ich to the system. Do I really need to qt the coral for 72 day? Or will dipping take care of this problem.
I do not what to have to keep a tank up for 72 days if I can help it. But I also do not want ich.
Thanks

Well,
I can vouch that ich can be carried in on corals on inverts.
2 weeks ago i got ick from adding a few new corals and inverts. My system has not seen a new fish addition for over a yr. 2 days after i introduced a few new corals , i had a massive ich out break. Currently everything is in Qt. And the DT is fishless. Not a happy camper.

Just as much as a fish. ANYTHING wet can bring diseases into the tank including but not limited to ich

This. Risk can be reduced by transferring no water, but this does not eliminate risk.
