Coral ID request.. your opinions please?

I'm working on a project and I need to know what kind of coral this is. Also, does it only grow in shallow water, or could it grow in deep water?

They were found near the Azores. Sorry I don't know the depth.

It looks kind like the skeleton of a Euphyllia coral or something like that.

Here is one more close-up that may be helpful... it shows more detailed "mushroom-like" structures than the other pictures.
