So I enjoy night watching of my tank.

I have 2 peppermints.

I am up late right now and the peppermints tend to venture out of their usual spot at night.

So I just witnessed 1 of them do some acrobatic motion and a big jerk and a explosion of twitchy things came off its under carriage.

Babies? If so, am I in trouble or will most not make it?

There appears to be at least 100 of them blowing all over the place.

I doubt any of them will survive. At least not in your DT. If you have a refugium and they make their way to it with being preyed upon it's possible they can survive.

My cleaner shrimp do this too and the feeding frenzy begins.

I tried to get pictures, they are too tiny and it was at night.

They will all become fish food

They are known to do this. Mine hatch eggs about every 2 months. So far I haven't seen any survive more than a day or two. I'm sure the fishies enjoy their morning snack.
