I just finished a top for my 20gal tank and it turned out pretty well. I used some of the ideas/videos from this site and BulkReefSupply ... it worked great!

I just got a 46gal tank with a bow front (curved in the front). I want to make one for this tank too but how the hell can I make the curved portion with aluminum? I do not think it will bend well. Any ideas? I asked my pops who is pretty handy and he said he could make a lid frame out of wood. I have not seen any wooden lids so I am guessing this is a bad idea. Any advice would be great!

square it off and use a piece of acrylic for the curved part. You can have it a separate part or zip tie it to the frame and make a hinged flap.
