I have a Zebra Mantis and a Snowflake Eel. I just put the snowflake in recently. So far, so good. However so, is it possible these two could establish the boundaries within the tank. The Zebra Mantis is a Burrower. The Eel has the rocks. It will be interesting to see what happens if they both go out of place at the same time. The Eel is about 10 inches long, the zebra maybe 8 or 9 inches. Any idea if there is any chance the zebra will live? The guy at the aquarium store, "Anything smaller then its head it will attack and eat." So i say for 20$ why not.

You've put 2 predators together known to kill one another in a closed environment where neither can escape the other.

It's not going to be a matter of territory but when 1 will kill the other.

The spearer might hold off the eel for now but when the spearer molts its going to be fresh meat for the picking.

1 will kill the other though that I would bet money on...

how large is your biocube.....unless it is huge, you may just want to mount a camera so you can see it when it happens....that must be what you are going for...deathmatch: Lets Screw My Water

I got 20 on the Mantis.

Moray eel and an L.Mac??? You're insane :L I thought pistol and peacock was risky... That moray will probably kill the Giant spearer, they are specialised hunters to kill smaller fish, they have relatively low protection... I'd remove one of them.

Seems a bit sadistic. It's one thing to feed an animal something it will kill quickly, but I'd imagine that this might not be a quick death. Mantis' are such intelligent creatures too, I hate seeing them be killed, but I guess at least inverts don't feel pain.

Well the mantis could probably live in there comfortably. The eel will end up being as long as the tank is so if it ends up being the winner it won't be much of a victory.

The eel's probably going to die if it isn't much larger than the mantis.

In my opinion the mantis will knock that little eel out and proceed to beat it to death. I don't recommend. Your not tossing a feeder in there with the eel your tossing a killer of a shrimp.
This sounds like a brutal bloody fight waiting to happen. Don't forget these living things are your pets.

Even after the fight is over the winner could be permanently scarred/disabled for the rest of its life
