Is there any low lighting requirement coral that could suvive in a 38 gal stock lighting good with an 10k light bulb, like a shroom?

That was both a joke and a serious answer. That coral is an NPS-non photosynthetic-meaning it doesnt need ANY light.

What type of lightbulb and the wattage? Mushrooms would probably be fine as well as some other softies. GSP would probably do well. And of course there are non photosynthetic corals but they require a lot of direct feeding to survive. I would skip them.

Seems under powered. Someone who has done it would have to chime in but I'm guessing it's time to buy or retrofit a light fixture.

I use a 6500 k CFL flood in a shop light reflector for my sump fuge: great cheato growth, great sponge growth. If you try it with shrooms I'd recommend discosomas for starters. They're hardy enough to survive a genuine 4 week cycle.
