I'm curious on what you all would recommend for lighting (preferably LED) for a standard size 75 gal. Going to be growing LPS and softies. My LfS has the Radion for 650/750 but Im not sure I want to spend the 1300/1500 on lights if there is a slightly cheaper alternative.

I used 2 maxspect razor 120w 16k on my 75 before I started my 180 build. They worked great for my kept anything I wanted.

I had the Marineland LED Reef fixture only until this Christmas when I added a second strip. I added the Current fixture with the ramp timer and love it. I love the Current fixture's ramp capabilities. The Marineland just turns on and off, so I coordinate the timer of the Current to minimize the harsh on/off of the Marineland. With two different fixtures I'm able to provide 8K, 12K, and 14K along with 445nm, and 460nm. At least in my mind having a little bit of each spectrum seems better than a whole lot of one kind. Also, because of the Current timers I can have completely different moods of lighting happening at different times of the day. It helps with the dusk/dawn effects too.

I do prefer the Current fixture due to all of the settings it offers. If/when the Marineland dies on me (I already have 3 dead LEDs) I'll be replacing it with a second Current fixture.

In terms of what I keep, I have a 75 gallon reef with a variety of critters...BTA, zoo's, Acan, Favia, Bird's Nest, mushrooms, leathers. Since the addition of the Current fixture, I've noticed happier coral.
