I did some major work on my tank stand about three months ago that required removing all the under cabinet equipment. I rinsed my skimmer out with water only, nothing else. At the same time i added a refugium to center compartment of my sump. I used about 3" of live sand, live rock, and caulerpa. Ever since, my Caulerpa grows like crazy but my skimmer has essentially stopped producing bubbles. EVERY component of the pump, skimmer, and plumbing has been checked and rechecked and is in perfect order.
So my question is, can the Caulerpa be utilizing dissolved nutrients, besides NO3 and PO4, so that my skimmer has "nothing" to skim?
