Simple new layout with extra hose, cuts noise in half.

Thought I'd share.

Just so you know, 40db is not half. It's actually ~1/13th of what it used to be if it was in fact a 40db drop. We have amazing ears.

Zero decibels (0 dB) is the quietest sound audible to a healthy human ear. From there, every increase of 3 dB represents a doubling of sound intensity, or acoustic power.

It might be a little quieter yet, if you replaced that block of wood with a vibration dampener.

I tried that, seems to be quieter on solid base.

I should have stuck with layman's description; about half as noisy as before.
