Hello all.

Just a question as to what the ideal lighting times are for a nano housing hammers, xenia and zoas?

i haven't put any corals in yet but want to go in prepared.

20 Watt dual LED (White and Blue)

22gal nano

Thanks everyone

My lights on my 10 gal cube come on at 2pm and go off at 9pm. In the tank is a duncun, some zoos and a kenya tree. all seem to be doing fine and have been in the tank for over a year. This is under a Coral Compulsion 24 watt par 38 bulb.

Mine start sunrise at noon with full light around 1:30pm. Sunset starts at 9:00pm and ends at 10:00pm. I do have some easy SPS corals and mostly LPS, but I do have some Zoas and a Kenya tree.

How do you control brown algae on the sand with a white light on for 10ish hours?

hah there's gotta be a better way than siphoning gravel cleaner every couple of days and in the process doing 10% water changes

Brown is either diatom or cyno. That may be cyno bacteria starting. I would say add more flow and keep a tight schedule on water changes. Also I noticed if my tanks were near a window it added more unwanted light. Especially if you have your lights on at night for viewing it would be adding too much. Noticed more of green algae bloom with that issue...
