So I have been having a bloom of some algae that I am struggling to get rid of. My nitrates have spiked when I was sick since my wife and daughter overfed.

I will get full reading tonight but as of Monday evening they were

Salinity: 1.026
Temp: 78
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 30
Water volume: 25 gallons

Equipment
Tank: Biocube
Skimmer Aquamaxx hob-1
BRS reactor running gfo and carbon

media running
gfo
carbon
purigen
chemipure elite

I just got in a hanna phosphate but did not use it last night as I was dealing with a water leak...

Anyway I have been doing water changes, run gfo/carbon in a reactor (small amount as it is new) and am still running purigen and chemipure elite in my media rack until I can ramp up my reactor to take over.

I thought it was GHA at first but even with the added GFO and lights being out it is still there. I understand my nitrates are high which would feed it and counter my GFO but I would have expected at least a limit to its growth.

I am now thinking it might be bryopsis but I am unsure of that as well. Here are some pics for ID.

I have stepped up my water changes and yes I have RODI and my TDS meter shows 0 on output and 167 on input so my filters are good. I do need to add some more CUC as I stocked lightly. My only livestock outside of corals are a cleaner shrimp, court jester goby, and six line wrasse. I have a small mix of hermits and snails. Tank is a 29 gallon biocube.

bump.

If someone needs different pics or more info please let me know. I want to know what this is so i can move onto the best plan of attack to eradicate it.

I am already working on nitrates but if this is bryopsis then I need to also do a Kent Tech M treatment I guess.
