My tank is 9 months old. I have a few fish, snails, crabs, and corals. Recently, I've had a few things show up that I hadn't noticed before. I'm not sure what they are and would love help IDing them.

I shot the pictures mostly in 5k light.

Picture 1 - What are the pink spots, the long purple thing coming out the base, and the wavy algae at the top?

Picture 2 - Another long purple thing at the right of the coral with a long stringy white thing coming out.f

Picture 3 - Four long skinny things coming off the frag plug with a few long stringy things associated with them

Picture 4 - A few short wavy things on the underside of the rock.

Picture 5 - This is a picture of part of my sump (lots of chaeto), but some of the wavy brown algae has made its way up top

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/38664265/Tank/10.jpg

Picture 6 - I think I have hair algae for the first time :(, also the long stringy white thing in the upper right

I wish that my rocks were less covered with green algae and more covered with coralline algae. My parameters look pretty good, but clearly something needs improvement.

The pointed tubes with associated white mucus strands are vermitid (sp?) worms. Harmless, mostly. Too many can irratate nearby corals. The pink spots look like coraline.

Yeh most them pictures are vermetid snails and can be a pain to deal with.
Also in picture 6, the stringy white thing is a digitate hydroid .

picture 4 could be a beneficial worm i forgot the name, but not bad. they capture detritus floating

picture 1 could be coralline on the skeleton, the purple stick is another vermetid worm.

picture 2 another vermetid.

you can use some IC gel glue to cap the opening of the tube to starve it.

they wont kill a coral but they will stress it

Thanks for the help.

@FraggledRock:

I have blue legged hermits, trochus snails, cerith snails, nassarius snails and nerite snails. I'm not sure any of them are going after the GHA. I'll be vigilant with my water changes, RODI water, GFO, and refugium to hopefully starve it out.

@kayraw:

Yikes! If that is indeed a digitate hydroid that is not fun at all. Are you sure? Is there anything that I can do?
