I just got a cleaner shrimp that looks like it is carrying eggs. The LFS salesman said that it is good food for the fish. My daughter insists that I should put the cleaner in a QT and use it as a breeder.
Is rearing cleaner shrimp possible?
How long is the gestational period of a shrimp?
What did I forget to ask?
Thanks,
Tom

i've heard these guys are tough.

this thread is old, but there is some good information in it:

it sounds like it would be very challenging, but a great learning experience.

Have you reared anything before? This is much easier said than done, hence why captive bred cleaner shrimp aren't a dime a dozen. I'm sure wild plankton is needed to accomplish this so unless you live near the ocean and want to go out everyday and get wild plankton I doubt it even remotely possible to raise the shrimp
