I noticed this stuff on my quarantine tank glass recently. It's some sort of semi transparent organism or debris. At first I thought it was silicone residue but there's so much of it. It doesn't move, so I don't know think it's alive. Could it be salt build up or something like that?

could very well be pods... try singling out one specific spot and look at if for 30 seconds to see if you can see it move.. if so they are pods

Thanks, they don't move and when I put it on my hands it shrivels up or kind of disintegrates. Quite long pieces on some of them too.

Aside from pod I also can't think of a good explanation with the images given

Pods, algae, sponges, worms etc. Nothing to worry about.

Great thanks for the reply guys, was just a little concerned because these are pretty big and they're all over my glass.

Some other photos, it seems to be attached to the overflow in these pics at the edge.

Looks like a small sponge commonly called pineapple sponge.

Yeah they look just like the pineapple sponges, I think that they are that. The only thing is that I read that they are usually in high flow areas, these sponges are appearing in areas where there's little flow. Maybe a different kind of pineapple sponges is my guess.
