Is there a better solution to use for cleaning the outside of the glass? It seems my normal spray windex just spreads the salt water rather then clean it.

Rodi water & newspaper work great...

Coralife glass cleaner/polisher does a great job and over time salt wipes off with a simple paper towel. Never used this stuff until a buddy of mine gave it to me, now I'm in love with the stuff and it's all I use.

also a warning about windex is if it gets into the tank by accident it may be harmful. I use 1/2 vinegar 1/2 water mix, spray it wipe, then polish down with dry towel.

it seems the coralife brand is discontinued and everyone is sell the Kent stuff. Is this the same stuff or at least just as good?

I sue a soft towel and just rub it clean most of the time, but once in a while I use RO/DI water and a little white vinegar.

I used windex for years. About 2 years ago I switched to "Invisible Glass" spray. To avoid getting it in the tank, spray it on a paper towel and then use it to wipe the glass clean. Does a wonderful job.

RODI water and a paper towel

+1 (Same way I clean the screen on my iMac too)

I even get that satisfying squeaky clean squeak too.

Should be the same thing. I guess I need to make the switch also. It's been awhile since I have had to buy some, but I love the stuff. After using it for awhile I don't even have to use it every time. Just a paper towel is needed. It's like waxing your aquarium.

I use a strong cleaner (Sprayway) that contains gasoline---(we keep it in the car: it will take dried bugs off windshields like magic) but I spray the cloth in another room and do NOT let it drip! In general, spraying ANYTHING near your tank, lighting scented candles or using carpet cleaner...I don't do these things in the room with the tank.

I just use tap water and microfiber towels. I do it every few days so it's never tough to get clean.

RODI/white vinegar in 1:1 mix. Works so well we use it on all of our glass instead of Windex.

I use Purpose all natural cleaner. I spray the paper towel and cleans the glass very well...

50/50 mix of white vinegar and water (doesn't have to be ro), and paper towels.

ive never had issues with Windex. i just spray it on the paper towel well away from the tank and then rub down the glass. no runners so nothing drips, etc. but, i do recognize the risks of this.
