I also have a pair, they are small but beautiful. Unfortunately, I was hoping that all of the stories you hear regarding the temperament of these fish were not all true. WRONG. My female is an absolute monster, almost like part demon. She will just punish the male if he gets out of line. I had to build a small partition in the tank just so he could eat and retreat somewhere when she gets to be abusive. It's actually starting to get a little better now, but when you are used to occ's and percs, it's tough to watch. I have a purple gig in treatment right now which may or may not make it, but if it does, I am really nervous about its introduction and what the female may do once it's in there. I guess we will see! Good luck with your mccullochs, and be ready to separate them once the hierarchy gets established.

Here's a couple of quick snaps of mine. Bought in May 2013 at approx 1", the female is now approx 4" total length and the male is approx 3" total length. Contrary to reputation and others experiences mine are fairly peaceful and only ever really get a little fiesty with the copperband for some reason. I did originally provide them with 3 BTA's but they prefer the haddoni.
