I added my first 2 corals (for my new tank) in a few weeks ago. 1 Devils Hand and 1 Finger Leather. About 2 weeks ago my finger leather turned completely white and looked somewhat "melting". Yet, the polyps still come out and overall, not minding the color, the coral looks fantastic. The melting aspect has since gone away but the coral seems to have shrunk a little. He was placed about midway in the tank and when I noticed the changes I moved him down a few inches.
Tank Specs:
120 gallon w/ 38g sump
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0-5
Calcium: approx 400ppm
Phosphate: 0-.25
Temp: 78.7
pH:8.24
As far as I know, there are no pests in my tank that would touch because it is relatively new and I have not seen any during day or night.
Anyone have any ideas???
Edit: The Devils Hand looks awesome. I run Evergrow LEDs and had no problem using them with my old tank which I kept around 10 different corals.
