I tried to adjust them and power the higher but it was a sand storm. They are near the back wall facing the front

looks like dinos,, what I am battling right now, some reading material for you below

what ever you do,, DO NOT do a water change until you read up on it,, it will double overnight

also what else is in the tank coral/fish or are you just starting one up???

Here are some newer pics. It goes away almost completely at night then by the time I get off work it is full blown all over. I have a Gfo and carbon reactor on the way hope that will help. Going lights out again. Has any had good luck getting rid of this with chemicals ?

This tank has been up for about 2 years no real changes other then 2 fish. But I had some before. I haven't ran a filter sock for a few weeks and last time I did a water change I cleaned some of the sand bed for the first time. I have rw 15 at 60-70 %. Flow seems good to me the rws would be the newest equipment

Also it just blows right off the rocks and sand and turns into what looks like dust and blows around my tank. I have tried to keep it as clean as I can but I am loosing this battle

so I have been looking in a few threads and this dose not look like what other people have said to be dinos. this is long and stringy. I have some sections that are about 7in long. The pics I have seen on dinos look fluffy and not very long.

Kona26

do you have any long sections..? like 6in or so

what I have is like brown hair. when I blast it with the turkey baster it just blows off easy and my rocks look great.

is it hard to get off your rocks. ?

Yeah when I turn off my powerhead for 10-15 I will get long hairy snot. Watch turn off your powerheads and dust up everything. You will see white snot suspending in the water column. Thats the dino bacteria in your water. Its comes right off my rocks with siphoning. When I was in battle mode I would siphon my rocks off every other day and replace my socks. I would go through 4-6 socks a week from siphoning. Before water changes dust it up and turn off your powerheads and siphon out as much that white junk out.

Siphon everything that is brown.

Calothrix and Dinos are pretty much same battle techniques to fight them. But Dinos take longer and are harder to over come.

I'd say dinos. See the pics and video of some here.

I havent had any luck getting it off my corals despite getting very aggressive with dipping in freshwater, mixes of fresh and peroxide, saltwater and peroxide... Most of my coral is probably gonna die, my xenia already has..
I have been dosing peroxide as well the entire time. I am up to 10 ml per 10 gallons.
My last dose turn the tank into a green/brown blizzard, I went through 4 filter socks in 24 hrs...
Thats when I gave up and pulled everything out and soaked it...
I removed it from my rock work by mixing 1/2 bucket freshwater with 2 bottles of peroxide and letting the rocks soak in the for 30 minutes.
I also pulled the sand out and soaked that as well...

Read through this http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1962886 some have had luck with dosing peroxide and going lights out (Wrapping the tank and really going dark)...

If you do siphon to clean your sand bed, pour that water through a filter sock and put it back in the tank, do not add fresh salt water in any way till you get this beaten , they love fresh salt water...

Good Luck
