Hey guys, I'm interested in getting myself some dragon algae. Is this a good or bad idea? Will the fish eat this or will this invade my tank? Are they pretty common or difficult to get?

I'm assuming you mean the Dragon's Breath algae? (Halymenia) I don't think I've ever heard of it being an invasive algae, but I'm sure there are some fish out there that would surely make a meal of it though. (tangs in particular) You'll just have to do some research. GL.

Tangs and Foxfaces will eat it for sure. So will most urchins.

I grow this in my sump along with my Chaeto its will not over run your tank for sure. My naso and yellow tang will not touch it ....or maybe they don't get a chance cause when I throw it in the display the pink tail trigger grubs it all down.

Much slower growing algae. I have dual 20 gallon refugium chambers in my sump and the chaeto has to be thinned every two weeks; the dragon's breath every two months. FWIW, my Tangs turn their noses up at it - too spoiled by nori I guess :)
