Is it worth it get the Digital Refractometer? I know it is 3x the cost but if I will end up wanting digital anyway as BRS says I will, I'd rather just jump and go digital out the gate.

Yes, yes, and more yes. It was one of the best things I have ever purchased.

Yes, much easier to read, exact. No lighting worries either looking through the manual. I first had the swing arm, then got the manual, then got the digital. By far the digital is the way to go the first time.

I didn't even know they had these. Just bought one after reading this since I have a hard time reading my manual one.

I have a Milwaukee digital and they are very easy to read. Calibrates with RODI, which is convenient. Sometimes readings can be variable so I usually take an average. Never had a problem.

I have the Hanna and it's so easy! As I get older, I trust my eyes less, so digital is working pretty good for me these days ;)

I love my Milwaukee digital. Any reading that doesn't involve color shades or educated guesswork is aces in my book. ;)

I guess I'm the odd one out but I prefer my veegee/vital sine for quick, easy, and accurate readings. I like the Milwaukee but I find the little eye piece more of a pain to rinse, wipe, and clean. Other wise it is a great refractometer for our use.
