I do my mixing and water collection in Rubbermaid Brute trash cans. Pretty safe plastic, as plastic goes...and they are 32 gallon containers. WHERE this 32 gallons comes to, is literally the top of the can. Rim full.

At half a cup of salt per gallon to achieve a 1.024 salinity, this makes measuring for 32 gallons of water a snap. Thirty-two half-cups of salt is one gallon of dry salt.

Make it one gallon less a cup, if you won't want to fill the can totally rim-full and nearly spilling over.

If you have ever sat counting half-cups of salt and losing count...this one's for you.
