I've noticed a pattern with my elegance that is really strange. For some reason it opens up at night (lights off) but stays closed during my light cycle. Any ideas??

Here it is NO LIGHTS. Pic taken at night with flash ON.

As soon as the light cycle starts it closes. Here it is shortly after my Blue LEDs start ramping up (sunrise). It stays closed for the duration of the light cycle.

I've rad somewhere light acclimation is key, and on top of that, prefer very low light.

It's on the sand bed under XM 20k's, so I'm assuming the PAR is fairly low. Also I've noticed the elegance closes up even when my refugium light comes on, so basically it closes from very low ambient light. Really strange...

I would hardly call that first picture opened up, but it is more open than the second picture. Mine has never closed up that much, it looks more like the first picture when lights are off.

How long have you had it? It looks like the typical behavior of a dying elegance to me. Let's hope not...

I'd move it to a really shady area. I've read that some are much more light sensitive than others. Are you feeding it?

Looks like its dying but I really hope not for your sake.. My opinion u need a quarantine tank!! When something looks bad it needs moved so u can treat it if needed and if it dies it isn't gonna crash your whole system.. Put it in a shady spot and see what happens .. But watch it closely cuz if it is dying get it out asap
