What all have people had experienced their flame angel eating coral? (Cant seem to word that sentence right)..
I just added 3 new fish today one of them was a flame angel. Ive heard they are to be watched around coral they eat some kinds but never got a clear answer as to what kinds they eat. I put mine in the tank and shortly after he at my green mushrooms all the way down to the coral glue. He has so far left my polyps alone. What else are they known to eat

haven't had any problems with mine. He eats what I feed them and is fed well.

I have seen others nip as clam skirts, zoas, palys, and mushrooms.

+1 on what he said! ^ I usually QT them to get them to eat frozen that way when I add them to my tank they eat and leave my corals alone. Usually feed more than usual.

My flame angel eats pellets and flakes. He pretty much eats anything I toss in.

I have 3 new big open brain corals that I got from my dads tank because he decided to add a fat new flame angel to his tank. he went right to town on them so I got them in my tank now. Good for me, bad for him.

Mine went crazy when I added a scoly. I had to get it out of the tank within minutes or it would have been toast.

I had one that didn't touch a thing for about a month. Then acquired a taste for my pink/orange monti setosa. Bye bye little fishy, and back to the LFS he went.

I've had several over the years. Can't say that any of them ever touched anything coral - wise. There was a bit of a war when I put in a Pygmy angel about 1/4 it's size however. That lasted for about a day until the Pygmy finally beat it into submission.
