I know this stuff ussually grows like a weed and people start to not like it but I have heard people talking about putting it on the rear wall. I even found a couple pictures but can't find anyone now who has it like that.

I'm starting an encrusting montipora wall on my overflow. It can definitely be done.

you see it a lot, when I could grow GSP (I cant anymore because of low nutrients I think) I had a nice size mat of it on my glass. I just put a little frag against the wall and it grew straight up it made a 12"x6" mat in about 6 months

Well I was pondering the idea of it and just wondered who else had tried it

I had tried to grow it on one of my overflows, but it got outcompeted by hairy mushrooms.

is your overflow plastic or glass? i was thinking of doing gsp on one side and motipora spongodes on the other side, both green but totally different creatures

BtheK has a thread going http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2491346 A pic towards the bottom of the pics posted shows some GSP on the back glass.

Sticks better to glass than plastic IME. Bit like silicone

About 10 years ago I had a 150 gallon that was running for years with GSP covering the whole back that was 5ft long x 30" High. This tank was one of the best setups I ever had. GSP looked great on back wall but I needed to consistently use a toothbrush in the overflow slots as the GSP would grow over the opening and tank water would rise and cause a potential flood. I would do it again though!

I had anthelia on a rock that I tied onto a plastic over the door hanger from wally world and it worked great. I was able to take it out and trim as needed.

I have it covering my overflow box and starting to cover the back glass of my tank

I know someone who put it on a 3d background with some anthelia. Looked amazing. Sadly the tank crashed during a power outage. He fed it reef chili to make it spread all over the 48" background within a year. High nutrient levels were key to fast/ successful/ colorful growth. I personally like the metallic gsp better than the normal. Just my .02

Well I think in a couple of weeks I'm gonna get some and try it.
