I was told that i might have better luck getting a response in this sub forum. I found a very long pale reddish/brown worm crawling around rockwork. Its head is round and smooth and body looks segmented. Its been in my tank for many months now i guess it came from live rocks that i bought
Havent had any corals nor fish eaten. The other day i saw it again so i used scissors to cut it. Have i killed it? The fact that i havent had any corals got eaten so would it be a reef safe worm?

I don't recognize it, so it doesn't look like any of the bad guys that I know, lol. I wouldn't swear that you killed it by cutting it in half, though. Let us know if it survives (or doesn't).

Cheers,

Don

Almost looks like a peanut worm. Did one end resemble an elephants trunk?

Yes it actually does. Does it eat coral?

If it is a peanut worm it is harmless

In future, ask what something is before you try to kill it. The majority of non-crab hitch-hikers are harmless, and many are helpful.
