Sump Mod Question

Hello all,

I ordered an SCA 50g plug and play setup. Came with a skimmer (which I upgraded to a 302 instead of the 301) and a sump etc. Attached is a pic of the sump. I need to mod the sump to get more room for my skimmer. My question is, can I simply take out the three pieces on the left hand side? As in, take out the divider on the left and the two part bubble trap and only leave the bubble trap on the right hand side which is before the return?

I don't want bubbles. I guess I could move the left handed bubble trap over about three inches but that seems redundant?

I will obviously be tossing the bioballs.

Your thought process is correct. You shouldn't get too many micro bubbles if any at all. Move one of the baffles if you want but it's not required.
