Can anyone ID this wrasse?

It appears to be Scarus isertus, the striped parrotfish, it grows to about a foot.

I'm pretty convinced it's actually a parrot fish of the Scarus genus, but I'm trying to nail down the species.

Fishbase doesn't want to play nice right now, but Scarus iserti looks good to me as well.

I wondered if it could be a Parrot Fish but was told it was a wasse. I figured that I'm a novice so I have no clue

Parrotfish are in the family Labridae, which includes all wrasses.
