spotted butterfly fish

I scuba dive and in the North east new england the gulf stream comes 100 miles off newport RI area during the sept and oct months .My last 2 dives we noticed the tropical fish where in the area .we went diving and caught some yellow butterfly fish.they have tranducent fins with a black stripe and the tips of there fins are yellow are these fish reef safe thanks kev.

If it is a butterflyfish then its reef safeness may be questionable. You could always try it and see what happens, I have a lot of supposedly non-safe fish in my personal tanks and they do fine, some nibble at certain corals and I avoid those corals in that particular tank.
