Hey Guys,

I've been running tanks know for over 6 years now. These include multiple beta tanks and an 18.5 communal Freshwater. However, I've been fascinated by marine tanks for ages.

I have finally decided to purchase a NUVO 16 Gal, for a saltwater setup and will be picking it up within the next few days. I've have done a lot of research over the past months and I believe Im ready for a reef tank.

Could someone give me some tips about these particular tanks if you already have one or tips that are important when keeping a nano reef tank! :lol2:

Haven't used this particular system, but the key to success in reef keeping is maintaining stable water parameters. This is more challenging in a smaller system and more diligent maintenance is required. That being said, some saltwater critters are more forgiving than others. What do you plan to keep?

Thanks for your reply,

I'm planning on 2 ocellaris clowns, an orange spot goby and maybe a bicolour dotty back. Possibly a shrimp as well.

That is way too many fish for a tank that small.

Are you sure, I was told by my aquarium shop I could keep up to 5 nano fish

Yeah... Less is more for a tank so small.
