I have had this plate coral for a few weeks now, and it has never extended it's polyps and all since I have owned it. It looks healthy, and still has great coloration, but I'm concerned with no polyps extension. Is there anything I can do to entice it other than placing food on top of that at nighttime? It has never even extended its tentacles at night which appears to be an unusual.

Are you sure that's a plate coral and not something else? Where's the mouth at? Usually it's right in the middle of the coral.

It was sold to me as a plate, and my thought was the same as ive never seen a mouth. What else could it possibly be?

Type in Diaseris fragilis. Looks more like your coral, don't think it has polyps .
