Had him for three months now. Shed about once a month. Checked parameters after I found him.
Trates trites 0
Ph 8.4
Dkh 11
Phos 0
Amonia .25
Sg 1.025

Found a small reddish (looks like a branch corral but fire shrimp red) with balls on the end. (would upload a pic but rc and my phone aren't agreeing tonight.

The question. Do fire shrimp die after laying eggs. What else could have killed it?

You should have no ammonia in your tank. There is a problem.

Not sure what killed it, sometimes things just die.

I figure the ammonia is due to him being in the tank. No clue when he died. I found him when I came home from work

Sometimes things just die, with no explanation. I have 3 emerald crabs I've had for about 2 months now, jut found one dead yesterday when I rearranged my aquascape(had the 90's rock wall going). All parameters are perfect, everything else in the tank is doing real well, no signs of fighting, just rolled over on his back dead. No explanation, sometimes it just happens.

You might want to check the ammonia again, if your tank is cycled, there should be no ammonia in your tank, even with a new addition.
