I have a 60G cube that has been up for just over a year. My fish are diamond goby, clown goby, 2 O clown fish, 2 bangai cardnals, blue chromis, coral beauty and a royal gramma. Inverts are cleaner shrimp, peperment shrimp, 2 small emerald crabs, assorted snails and hermits. Corals are toadspool, hammer, torch, frogspawn, mushrooms and assorted zoas. My paramaters are all within tolerences and steady. My sump has a sock, skimmer and a cheato section. 100lbs of rock in DT. Lighting is 130W of LED. Weekly 10% rodi water change and dose nothing.

My question: The rocks in my DT have nothing growning on them. they are as clean as when I first put them in a year ago. No algae, coraline, nothing. I do get some coraline and green film algae on my glass which I clean every few days. Is this normal? Should I be dosing something? I never see my coral beaty picking at the rocks. I see other tanks with their rocks covered with coraline.

Ime some rocks just take way longer than others to be covered in coraline algae. I almost feel as if some are un-hospitable for coraline for some reason.

My 105g is like that also I'm scraping coraline off the glass almost weekly but the rocks it's far and few between that it's growing as rapidly. I have also read it can be from high light so I just wrote it off as that until reading a few threads lately with the same issues I'm having Idk.

I'll keep my fingers crossed it stays this way.

I have the opposite situation. I started my tank with nothing but dry BRS reef saver rock. My rock is COVERED in coraline algae but it wont grow on my glass at all. I put in some new rocks about a month ago and they are already getting covered in red and purple coraline. I have never had any on my glass however so I am not sure why that is lol.
