I tee my reactor line off the main, 3/4" return. Right now, I have it connected by a barb, but it does pop off from time to time when I move the reactor, like when I load it. I'd like to use a compression fitting. Is there such a ting as a 3/4" Tee with a compression fitting on the side? Or do I just need and adapter to put the compression fitting in the side?

any steel hose clamp will last a long time if it does not get splashed much, so you could just try that. even some cable ties would probably keep it on. what plumbing pieces are available depends on where you are shopping. lowes typically has the best of any local store. you will find much more online, obviously.

It's submerged, so metal isn't an option. The biggest issue is that the barb is slightly too big, so I can't fully press it on.

Have you tried heating the end of the hose in really hot water before pushing it onto the barb? This usually works for me.

I often use the heavy duty Gorilla Tape for underwater hose clamping.

to make this part work - you'd need to switch over to PVC (and assumes you have a 1/2" feed to your reactor) Get a 3/4" tee and a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter - glue the adapter into the 3/4" tee then screw in the liquifit fitting into the 1/2" threaded adapter.

a few cable ties pulled really tight always works better than these IME.

Channel locks make closing these a snap. Cable ties stretch on me. JMO.

hmm, thats a good idea to get that one last click. also, i have only used the very small ones. i bet the bigger ones work better because the tooth size is smaller relative to what you are compressing so you get smaller increments.
