Ocean Nutrition, OSI, Tetra, Nutrafin. They all work.

I use New Era flakes. My clowns seem to like them, as does my cleaner shrimp!

flake isn't a good food of choice but the two I will feed is New Life Spectrum and OSI Spirulina flake.

Spirulina is the only flake you should feed fish. Stick with live and frozen food for the health of your fish. Live black worms and white worms, frozen cut up clams, mysis and plankton.

I love OSI spirulina flake, much better/ cleaner than ON formula 2 IMO, sure flake isn't ideal but before you dismiss prepared dry foods vs frozen you may want to think about the nutrition density of frozen food vs dry.

I have grown many fish from small sizes to healthy fat adults and owned them for 10+ years at a time in many cases on nothing but flake food. Most quality flake and dried foods are a fine staple died. I like Formula 1 and the IO chips as my favorite foods currently. This is coming from someone that owned a pretty successful frozen fish food company and studied fish nutrition.

I have many fish from anthais , angels, tangs, foxface, wrasses and more.
I usually use NLS pellets as my staple , and feed nori , and all kinds of frozen food.
all the fish eat the frozen , most eat the nori, but the
I find all the fish but the anthias eat the NLS pellets
I'm looking for a dry staple food that all my fish will eat and thrive on,

Because it isn't very substantial. Most fish will do just fine on it by itself if enough is fed.

I have some of the IO chips, they are interesting and vibrantly colored to say the least. They seem pretty good though and the fish like them. They also have more mass to them, sort of a mix between a pellet and a flake. Several of my fish won't touch any flake or pellet which sucks because I would like them to get food from the autofeeder during the day. In time maybe.

What size pellet are you feeding and which anthias? Some are very picky eaters.
I've had several anthias that would only ever eat frozen but most ate anything they could fit in their mouth.

I feed a variety each week, but Formula 2 flakes are a daily staple.
I vary between frozen mysis, brine, bloodworms and cyclops along with grocery store shrimp and scallops.
My Lyretail Anthias scarf Formula 2 flakes and small pellets as well NLS small pellets. They are OK with Formula 1 Flakes, don't like the pellets.
They eat anything frozen except mussels and scallops from the grocery store.
But that's OK because the clowns eat what the Anthias do not.

.
I'd disagree and say its more beneficial than frozen food as it isn't full of water, therefore weight for weight it has a much highly calorific content, plus the addition of vitamins and minerals.

I alternate days with Formula 2 and Prime Reef flakes. Both by Ocean Nutrition.
Flakes are my daily staple. I don't feed pellets.
They also get frozen 3-4 feedings a week (only one feeding in any given day).

The anthias get the small Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Pellets. But they eat pretty much anything.

Another opinion from someone who's actual tank is older than most people on this forum.
